first light
the archive has been up for a while now. photographs i've made over the years, pulled out of folders as i find them, shuffled fresh every time someone visits. it does what it was meant to do — hold the work, let it be seen, stay out of its own way.
but photographs don't answer every question someone might have. how was this made. what was going on that day. why film here, digital there. what the darkroom is for. why i went back to lagos, why i stopped, why the camera turned toward the people i know. questions i get in dms, in person, and sometimes in my own head.
so: this.
this is where the writing lives. not a blog in the usual sense — no schedule, no optimization, no takes on other people's work. just notes. process, doubts, small technical pieces, the occasional longer thought when one shows up. posts will come when they come. some will be a paragraph. some might be longer. all of them will sit here quietly, waiting to be read by whoever needs them.
the archive is the looking. this is the looking back.
