the world should have stopped when you left, but it didn't

"the world should have stopped when you left but it didnt..." a week after dads passing this is all i felt. 3 months later idk how i feel...

in recent years he would say to me "being born means that one day you will also die" a reality he seemed more and more comfortable with, one we will all face. death... inevitable but still incredibly devastating. what does it all mean? from birth... we form these bonds/friendships... experience love and trust yet one day it all comes to an end...

why am i writing this? this year has left me with an increased urgency to speak from the soul and to encourage others to as well...

becoming a father helped me see my dad for the first time. you know... i started to think, man, he probably misses his friends... he's probably lost close friends who he can never speak to again... how does that make him feel? what was it like for him battling the emotions of being a human being while feeling the need to appear strong to me? he misses his mother... just like i miss him today... of course he felt this, it all seemed so obvious now, dad was once a child too... he is still her child, as i am still his... my sons put me in the shoes of a father... how could i not see this before? parents are not perfect... they have great days and bad days... remember this please, it makes forgiveness possible.

i wanted to tell you all the meaningful things my dad has done for me but thats not quite possible to sum up here and this wont be the last time i write about dad

in this life, whatever has a beginning shall also have an end ... and there is no way to ever prepare for it... perhaps that is the design of it all

use time wisely
